Call of Duty Warzone 2: What is the Gulag?

Warzone 2 is coming soon with the launch of Call of Duty.
Modern Warfare II Season 1 adds a new DMZ mode and plenty of new content to dive into.

The new free-to-play Call of Duty Battle Royale has been revamped with a new Al Mazura map, a brand new Battle Pass, 2v2 concentration camp matches, a brand new Buy Station, and a collapsing circle that splits into 2 or 3 pieces.

Warzone 2 preloads now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC via Battle.net and Steam. When testing preload, we ran into some issues that Activision is currently working on. Basically, go to your platform’s storefront and search for Warzone 2. Once you see it, just press the preload button to start the installation.

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 are currently experiencing some issues after the official release of Battle Royale. Inviting friends to play is usually fine, but a problem plaguing fighting games prevents users from forming teams and jumping into the game to smash enemies.

I can’t imagine Warzone 2 being 38.6GB on PlayStation when it’s only 6.2GB on Xbox and 17.4GB on Battle.net.

This suggests that it is a “base game” containing files from Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2. , and it also installs on my PlayStation 5 (I don’t really have that much space! I’m just doing this for science!)

This may only be the initial preload size, another major update is in the works that will require even more disk space. We are seeking clarification and will update this post as soon as we have more information.

All in all, limited information at the moment, but the actual preload isn’t that big as far as I can tell, from 6.2 GB on the Xbox to 17.4 GB on the PC and 38.6 GB on the PlayStation. If you already have Modern Warfare II installed, it’s there.

Oh, and currently my Steam install of Modern Warfare II (presumably with Warzone 2 pre-installed) is 55.45GB. I think it was around 30GB when I started. So it’s possible Warzone 2’s update on Steam was around 25GB, but we’re not entirely sure as updates from launch to date may affect the base install size. call of duty:
