Armenia said several towns near its border with Azerbaijan, including Jamuk, Goris and Kapan, opened fire early on Tuesday in response to what Azerbaijan called a “massive provocation”.
Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry issued a statement acknowledging the strike, but said the strike was “small” and “aimed at securing the Azerbaijan border.”
On Monday, the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry accused Armenian forces of firing small arms fire at the Novoyvanovka settlement in the Gadabey region and the Khusur settlement in the Lachin region, close to the border between the two countries. Armenia denied the allegations.
